About the position

At MGIC, we are looking for a dedicated professional to play a critical role in our company's success by supporting the development and design of corporate compensation programs. This position involves analysis, implementation, and administration of compensation programs, ensuring compliance with federal and state laws and regulations. The ideal candidate will enjoy solving puzzles and finding better ways to get things done, while also being passionate about providing outstanding customer service and making a difference in the community.

Responsibilities

  • Creates, maintains controls and recommends enhancements or changes of all aspects of employee compensation and incentive plans administration.
  • Prepares compensation analysis and recommendations for management.
  • Ensures compliance with all federal and state laws and regulations.
  • Responsible for coordinating end-of-year reporting in relationship to executive compensation including annual proxy and other disclosures.
  • Provides support regarding administration of officer compensation and coordinates materials for Management Development Committee meetings.
  • Provides comprehensive analytical support and develops recommendations for compensation programs, incentive programs, job evaluations, and salary recommendations.
  • Analyzes job responsibilities for new or modified jobs through interviews and market research.
  • Participates in wage and salary surveys and prepares summaries for management.
  • Provides guidance and consultation to HR business partners and managers.
  • Creates and participates in presentations and training related to compensation.
  • Conducts annual audits to ensure compliance of all compensation-related administration.

Requirements

  • Experience in salary administration, job evaluation, and compensation planning and analysis.
  • Knowledge of human resource principles and practices.
  • Familiarity with government regulations and laws related to FLSA, compensation, and employment.
  • Experience in compensation plan design, administration, and regulatory requirements.
  • Knowledge of incentive plan design and total rewards strategies.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite applications, especially Excel and Word.
  • Experience with Human Resource Information Systems, preferably Workday.
  • Strong analytical and statistical orientation.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and consultative skills.
  • Experience in training and presentation.

Nice-to-haves

  • Completion of the CCP certification/designation preferred.
