About the position

Wilson Elser is seeking a Senior Complex Litigation Attorney to join their team in San Diego, Los Angeles, or Orange County. This role is designed for experienced attorneys with a strong background in defense litigation, particularly in areas such as general liability, personal injury, and catastrophic injury. The position offers a flexible, hybrid working arrangement and provides an opportunity to work closely with in-house counsel and sophisticated clients, managing substantial litigation responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage a litigation caseload, working cases from beginning to end
• Work closely and collaborate with other attorneys and partners
• Conduct regular trial preparation, investigation, court appearances, mediations, and depositions
• Communicate with clients and provide reports

Requirements

• JD from an accredited law school
• Admitted to practice in California
• 8+ years of defense litigation experience
• Experience with defending Personal Injury, General Liability, Catastrophic Injury, Transportation, and other civil litigation matters preferred
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Client-facing experience preferred
• Ability to integrate into a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
• Legal project management experience is helpful
• First chair trial experience a plus
