About the position
The Senior Compliance Analyst will lead and conduct investigations into research misconduct, ensuring adherence to federal regulations and institutional policies. This role involves managing faculty inquiry activities, performing forensic analysis, drafting compliance reports, and implementing corrective action plans. The analyst will collaborate with various offices to enhance research compliance and develop training programs to prevent future non-compliance.
Responsibilities
- Direct and conduct research misconduct investigations arising from allegations of wrongdoing, data falsification, fabrication, or plagiarism.
- Manage faculty inquiry and investigation committee activities and report to federal oversight agencies.
- Perform forensic image analysis and data analysis using software such as Photoshop, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Create analytical tools for faculty committees.
- Draft reports for faculty committees in compliance with federal regulations and expectations.
- Lead focused reviews of potential research non-compliance and coordinate with other offices to ensure research consistency with federal, state, local, and institutional requirements.
- Implement corrective action plans as necessary.
- Work with the Office of Research Integrity's (ORI) research training development processes and other offices to develop proactive approaches to prevent identified non-compliance issues from recurring.
Requirements
- BA/BS or the equivalent in education and experience.
- Five or more years of working experience in a higher education or business environment in a role related to audit, internal control, clinical research, and/or investigative processes.
- Proficiency in grants, contracts, compliance, reporting, finance, legal document preparation, and legal research.
Nice-to-haves
- JD or experience in sponsored research.
