About the position

As a Senior Composite Manufacturing Engineer in the Aerospace industry, you will be part of a dynamic team that pushes the boundaries of what's possible. This role is pivotal in driving our manufacturing operations to the next level. You will be at the forefront of innovation, working on a variety of exciting projects that make a real difference in the world of aviation and defense. Your expertise will be essential in leading the design, development, and implementation of composite manufacturing processes, tooling, and equipment. You will utilize your knowledge of SolidWorks and other software to create detailed engineering prints and drawings, ensuring that our manufacturing processes are efficient and effective. In this role, you will implement Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies to optimize efficiency, reduce costs, and improve processes. You will develop and implement process control techniques and procedures into manufacturing environments, analyzing manufacturing process flows, facility layout, and operational data to assess and identify areas for process improvement. Collaboration with design teams will be crucial to ensure that design concepts are manufacturable and meet AS9100 and other relevant aerospace quality standards. You will also provide technical guidance and support to manufacturing personnel to resolve manufacturing and quality problems, coordinate with suppliers and customers on the development of new product specifications, and participate in the development and implementation of cost reduction initiatives.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in composite manufacturing engineering in the aerospace industry.
  • Proficient in SolidWorks, Catia, and other relevant software.
  • Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Experience with process engineering, GD&T, and manufacturing processes.
  • Familiarity with AS9100 and other aerospace quality standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive process improvement and cost reduction initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of tooling, drawings, and design concepts.
  • Experience in the aviation and defense sectors is a must.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S and be able to obtain a security clearance.
