About the position

The Senior Construction Loan Closing Specialist plays a crucial role within the Loan Operations team at Redwood, directly reporting to the Director of Loan Closing. This position is highly collaborative, requiring interaction with both internal and external partners to facilitate construction loan closings that significantly contribute to the growth of Redwood Neighborhoods. The role demands strong leadership and problem-solving skills, with the potential for advancement to a managerial position based on performance.

Responsibilities

• Review closing checklists and deliver outstanding due diligence items to the working group.
• Help lead discussions in working group calls.
• Actively participate in pipeline meetings and provide regular status updates regarding the path and timeline to loan closings.
• Rotate leading this meeting with business partners.
• Coordinate bank accounts that must be issued/opened at closing.
• Ensure that all signature pages relative to closing documentation are properly executed and delivered to the working group.
• Save due diligence items and loan documents to SharePoint folders.
• Keep D365 current throughout the closing process and finalize information before the record is closed.
• Complete Yardi mortgage tab within 10 business days of closing.
• Assist in the end-to-end process for forming new LLCs including creating Yardi codes, neighborhood names, etc.
• Proactively monitor the interest expiration dates for active construction loans and work with the Director of Finance and Director of Loan Closing to obtain extensions as needed.
• Regularly communicate with the Director of Loan Closing on the pipeline status to ensure mutually informed and working together to achieve closings and hit deadlines.
• Thoroughly review and help to negotiate loan documents and settlement statements.
• Identify/participate in problem solving of complex matters that may arise during the closing process.
• Other closing related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• HS Diploma or GED required; college degree preferred
• 3+ years of commercial construction loan closing experience, including negotiation of loan documents required
• 3+ years of financial services experience
• General computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office
