About the position

Zurich is currently seeking a Senior Construction Professional Liability Underwriter to join our construction team in our Philadelphia office, with the option to work remotely. In this role, you will have the opportunity to analyze and underwrite new and renewal business under limited direction, utilizing The Zurich Way of Underwriting Framework. This position involves handling highly complex assignments while ensuring a high level of service to customers. As a market-facing role, we are looking for someone with a strong sales execution mindset to manage a territory and establish robust broker relationships. The Senior Construction Professional Liability Underwriter will be responsible for evaluating risks, determining appropriate coverage, and pricing for construction-related insurance products. You will work closely with brokers and clients to provide tailored solutions that meet their needs while adhering to Zurich's underwriting guidelines. This role requires a proactive approach to building and maintaining relationships with brokers, as well as a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service. In addition to underwriting responsibilities, you will also be expected to stay informed about industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging risks in the construction sector. Your ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, will be crucial in conveying complex information to clients and stakeholders. Responsibilities

• Analyze and underwrite new and renewal business for construction professional liability insurance.
• Utilize The Zurich Way of Underwriting Framework within delegated authority levels.
• Manage a territory and establish strong broker relationships.
• Evaluate risks and determine appropriate coverage and pricing for construction-related insurance products.
• Provide tailored solutions to meet client needs while adhering to underwriting guidelines.
• Stay informed about industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging risks in the construction sector.
• Communicate effectively with brokers and clients to convey complex information.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent and 5 or more years of experience in the Underwriting or Market Facing area.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent and 10 or more years of experience in the Claims or Underwriting Support area.
• Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree and 3 or more years of experience in the Underwriting or Market Facing area.
• Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree and 8 or more years of experience in the Claims or Underwriting Support area.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Experience working on time restraints for quotes on new and renewal business.
• Experience working in a team environment.
