About the position

The Senior Project Director - Construction Management at AtkinsRéalis will lead various construction management projects, particularly with the Texas Department of Transportation (TXDOT). This role involves managing project execution, client relations, and business growth while providing leadership and guidance to project managers and staff. The position requires a strong technical background, excellent communication skills, and the ability to foster relationships with clients to identify and pursue business opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Manage project execution and client relations for construction management projects with TXDOT.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to managers and staff within the area of responsibility.
  • Participate in strategic planning to maximize profitability and operational efficiencies.
  • Leverage existing TXDOT relationships to identify and pursue business opportunities.
  • Assist managers in developing project work plans and reviewing schedules, budgets, and milestones.
  • Oversee financial performance of projects and ensure remedial actions are taken to avoid financial losses.
  • Monitor compliance with quality control standards and conduct QA compliance audits.
  • Conduct contract negotiations with clients and sub-consultants.
  • Develop and recommend operational budgets for approval by senior management.
  • Manage accounts receivables and client billings, including final write-offs and past due accounts.
  • Develop and implement annual and strategic marketing plans for targeted projects.
  • Maintain visibility and professional courtesy by participating in civic and professional organizations.
  • Assist management in identifying staffing needs based on future workload projections.
  • Conduct semi-annual performance reviews and career planning sessions with project staff.

Requirements

  • B.S or M.S. degree in engineering or construction management.
  • 15+ years of experience in construction management, CEI, transportation engineering, and urban freeway design.
  • 7+ years of experience leading transportation design projects for TXDOT and local clients.
  • 3+ years of business development experience.
  • PE License (TX).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including public speaking and persuasive ability.
  • Strong financial management, team management, and leadership skills.
