About the position

Turner & Townsend is seeking an experienced Senior Construction Project Manager - Industrial Production Line to lead the construction of a large battery manufacturing facility. This role is pivotal in ensuring that the project is delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. The successful candidate will be responsible for interfacing with clients and other consultants at all stages of the project, ensuring effective communication and collaboration throughout the process. The position requires a self-starter who can take the initiative and drive activities with limited supervision, demonstrating a proactive approach to project management. The Senior Construction Project Manager will oversee financial management, ensuring prompt client invoicing and utilizing financial systems to monitor the project's financial status. This includes preparing formal project budget progress reports and managing the flow of project information between the team and the client through regular meetings and written communications. The role also involves project planning, including producing detailed project plans and working with architectural and engineering firms on design evolution and drawing reviews. In addition to these responsibilities, the Senior Construction Project Manager will work closely with general contractors on procurement bid package reviews, recommendations, order submissions, tracking, and invoice approval. Quality control is a critical aspect of this role, ensuring compliance with quality standards and reviewing safety incidents with corrective action follow-up. The manager will also assist the client with alternative funding source acquisition and identify opportunities to improve project management procedures, templates, and products, referring ideas to the appropriate line manager. Establishing effective project governance, processes, and systems to be utilized throughout the project is essential. The role may also include general line management responsibilities where appropriate, ensuring that all aspects of the project are managed effectively and efficiently. The ideal candidate will have a college degree in Construction Management or a related field, along with PMP certification and membership in relevant professional organizations. Field experience is a plus, as is the ability to manage demanding stakeholders and work stream managers effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Interfacing with the client and other consultants at all project stages.
  • Ensuring prompt client invoicing and utilizing financial systems to monitor a project's financial status.
  • Producing detailed project plans and managing project planning activities.
  • Overseeing A/E firms on design evolution and drawing reviews.
  • Managing the flow of project information between the team and the client through regular meetings and written communications.
  • Working with general contractors on procurement bid package reviews, recommendations, order submissions, tracking, and invoice approval.
  • Preparing formal project budget progress and other reports.
  • Monitoring project schedule and working with the general contractor to meet milestones and Job 1 timing.
  • Ensuring compliance with quality standards through quality control measures.
  • Reviewing safety incidents and following up on corrective actions.
  • Managing the Field Authorization Request (FAR) process with the general contractor.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve project management procedures, templates, and products.
  • Assisting the client with alternative funding source acquisition.
  • Identifying and ensuring that the appropriate line manager is aware of quality, safety, health, and environment issues.
  • Establishing effective project governance, processes, and systems to be utilized throughout the project.
  • Discharging general line management responsibilities effectively.

Requirements

  • Construction project management experience with a strong client-facing ability.
  • College degree in Construction Management or a related field.
  • PMP certification.
  • Membership in relevant professional organizations.
  • Experience managing demanding stakeholders and work stream managers.
  • Field experience is a plus.
