About the position

The Senior Construction Risk Engineering Consultant at Zurich is responsible for minimizing customer losses and enhancing sustainability and business resiliency within the construction industry. This role involves leveraging risk engineering tools, delivering consultative services, and developing strong relationships with customers and business partners. The consultant will also market and sell risk mitigation services, conduct loss investigations, and provide risk improvement advice, all while working primarily from home in Texas with expected travel of 30% to 50%.

Responsibilities

  • Adapt Zurich's Innovative Solutions to the Construction Industry to minimize customer losses and improve sustainability.
  • Leverage risk engineering tools and services to enhance customer risk management for Zurich Construction Insurance products.
  • Deliver high-quality construction consultative services, identifying exposures and program risk control gaps.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with customers and business partners, collaborating on service plans.
  • Market and sell a range of fee services to support customer risk mitigation efforts.
  • Produce advanced presentations and deliver risk management training for customers and internal partners.
  • Provide risk improvement advice, conduct loss investigations, and implement risk improvement programs.
  • Assist customers in developing corporate and project-specific QA/QC plans and safety plans.
  • Participate in Sales Team meetings and presentations to brokers and customers, contributing to fee income sales.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and 6 or more years of experience in Construction Risk Engineering, Safety/Risk Management, or Construction Field Operations, OR a High School Diploma with 8 or more years of relevant experience.
  • Experience working in a team environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Construction Safety/Risk experience with Project Management or Superintendent experience.
  • Large commercial construction experience with industrial, medical, and educational projects.
  • Advanced knowledge of construction safety, operations, quality management, and associated risks.
  • Professional certifications such as CRIS, ARM, CHST, CSP, ASP, P.E.
  • High level of computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office and IOS platforms.
  • Proficiency in technical writing for customer and internal work products.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and consulting skills.
