About the position
Looking for a Scrum Master who would be accountable to setup, evolve & drive the scrum structure, including all ceremonies & the metrics for the platform teams within the guidelines laid out by client. Candidates should be able to create the environment for a team to deliver value, be highly independent, confident in their abilities and flexible enough to adapt to an evolving landscape.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for ensuring Scrum is understood and the team adheres to Scrum theory, practice, and guidelines.
- Solid exposure to the product-platform ways of working in an Agile environment.
- Works with Scrum Team, as well as internal and external stakeholders, to influence and drive decision making and support organizational project or product teams.
- Facilitates and supports all scrum events: Sprint Planning, Daily Scrum, Sprint Review, and Sprint Retrospective.
- Upskills team members and facilitates end of sprint retros - contribute to the teams understanding of their in-sprint performance.
- Removing impediments or guiding the team to remove impediments.
- Facilitating discussion, decision making, and conflict resolution.
- Assisting with internal and external communication, improving transparency, and radiating information.
- Supporting and educating the Product Owner, especially on grooming and maintaining the product backlog.
- Providing all support to the team using a servant leadership style whenever possible and leading by example.
Requirements
- Overall, 4 to 8 years of experience
- Hands on experience as Scrum Master at least for 3-4 years
- Experience in Project Management Tools
- CSM/equivalent certification
- Excellent Coaching skills
- Bachelors in engineering (preferably Computer Science) or equivalent
- Good skills and knowledge of servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment, and increasing transparency.
- Adept at refinement, story splitting, estimation, velocity, retrospection, and other Scrum techniques Planning and problem solving with product management and delivery teams
- Experience in applying a wide variety of well-documented patterns and techniques to enhance the Scrum approach (e.g., progress visualization techniques, retrospective formats, approaches for handling bugs, etc.)
Nice-to-haves
- Knowledge and experience of other agile, lean and DevOps approaches (e.g., XP, Kanban, TDD, continuous integration, continuous delivery, automation, etc.)
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Excellent coaching and mentoring skills
