About the position

The Senior Consultant - Automotive Cybersecurity at UL, LLC is responsible for ensuring the security of automotive systems and technologies. This role involves applying expertise in cybersecurity management systems, risk management, and continuous cybersecurity activities to protect vehicle technologies. The consultant will work on various aspects of automotive cybersecurity, including secure vehicle architecture, software update management, and security testing, while collaborating with a global team to drive innovation and safety in the automotive industry.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and manage ISO 21434 and Cybersecurity Management Systems (CSMS) for automotive applications.
  • Conduct risk management and continuous cybersecurity activities, including incident response and monitoring.
  • Develop and assess security controls at the vehicle level, ensuring secure onboard communication and secure boot processes.
  • Perform security testing, including penetration testing, vulnerability scanning, and dynamic/static application security testing.
  • Manage software supply chain security, including vendor assessments and risk management for secure software updates.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 24089 and manage vehicle software update campaigns.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics, Computer Science, Mechanical, Automotive, Robotics, Software or Mechatronics Engineering; Master's degree preferred.
  • At least 3 years of experience in Automotive Cybersecurity and embedded systems development for vehicle technologies.
  • Strong understanding of Cybersecurity Standards and Automotive Engineering principles.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with secure development processes such as ASPICE for Cybersecurity, NIST Cybersecurity Framework, ISO 27001, and OWASP.
  • Familiarity with secure vehicle architecture and frameworks.
  • Knowledge of security testing methodologies specific to automotive applications.
