About the position

The Senior Consultant in Capital Projects & Infrastructure at Guidehouse is responsible for leading and supporting capital projects throughout their lifecycle, from planning to maintenance and operations. This role requires a deep understanding of project governance, risk management, construction project management, and performance metrics, particularly in capital-intensive industries such as nuclear facilities and power plants. The consultant will develop strategic plans to assist business leaders in making informed investment decisions.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate thorough knowledge of the capital project lifecycle.
• Support or lead project governance, risk management, and analysis.
• Manage construction project controls including schedule and cost control.
• Conduct complex schedule analytics and manage contract development.
• Develop performance metrics and project reporting systems.
• Utilize project technology for project and portfolio management.
• Create road mapping and strategic plans for investment decisions.

Requirements

• 3 - 5 years of experience in capital projects and infrastructure.
• Experience leading client relationships and engagement teams.
• Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local procurement regulations.
• Engineering or technical expertise in project controls and management technology.
• Experience drafting formal communications to clients.
• Must not be subject to employment restrictions from a former employer.

Nice-to-haves

• Master's Degree (MBA, MPP, MPA, etc.)
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or EIT.
• Experience managing PMIS deployment across multiple industries.
