About the position

The Senior Consultant at OptumServe Consulting (OSC)/The Lewin Group is responsible for conducting research and analysis to support consulting projects aimed at improving healthcare and human services systems. This role involves working with various stakeholders, including federal and state governments, health plans, and hospitals, to identify and address issues such as fraud, waste, and abuse in government health programs. The position offers the flexibility to work remotely while engaging in challenging projects that require critical thinking and innovative problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and perform a variety of research and consulting tasks, including data review and analysis
  • Contribute critical thinking and problem-solving skills to develop creative and innovative solutions
  • Improve existing project deliverables and perform ad hoc analyses based on client need
  • Manage time effectively across multiple projects or tasks, with different managers and competing priorities
  • Maintain a high degree of accuracy, along with attention to detail, excellent oral and written communication skills, solid interpersonal skills, and the ability to always meet deadlines

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college/university
  • 7+ years of experience performing statistical analyses and Integrated Data Repository (IDR) structure and programming
  • Experience using software for data analysis, such as SAS, Python, R, or Tableau
  • Academic and/or work experience performing quantitative analysis
  • Maintaining a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Working effectively as a member of a project team
  • Preparing presentations and reports for clients
  • Solid oral and written communication skills
  • Aptitude for interpreting data outputs and articulate findings
  • Has previously worked or is currently working as a contractor placed at UHG or one of its subsidiaries or affiliates

Nice-to-haves

  • Advanced degree from an accredited college/university in mathematics, statistics, biostatistics, economics, computer science, data science, epidemiology, or other quantitative fields
  • Healthcare or human services research experience
