About the position

The Senior Consultant for Private Capital Fund Accounting plays a crucial role in providing comprehensive administration, financial accounting, and investor reporting services for third-party clients in the private equity sector. This position involves direct interaction with private equity fund clients, managing client expectations, and ensuring the timely and accurate completion of various financial tasks and projects. The consultant will also be responsible for coordinating client service deliverables, monitoring compliance programs, and providing training to staff.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate client service deliverables/projects and set short-term priorities.
  • Interact directly with private equity fund clients to manage issues and expectations.
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of tasks related to fund administration.
  • Be technically competent regarding complex transactions surrounding private equity fund activity.
  • Provide input and maintain risk management and compliance programs for the assigned team.
  • Establish and cultivate working relationships with clients and partners.
  • Act as a key communicator between clients and service teams for deliverables.
  • Conduct training presentations and on-the-job training for staff.
  • Ensure all necessary client documentation is completed according to audit guidelines.
  • Monitor turnaround times for product/service delivery.
  • Review bespoke, non-standard procedures for account processing.
  • Provide management updates on transactions and service issues regularly.
  • Assist in implementing new technology and efficiency initiatives.

Requirements

  • 3-4 years of accounting/securities operations experience.
  • 5-6 years of private equity fund accounting/administration experience with demonstrated growth of responsibility.
  • Minimum of 3 years client servicing or related experience.
  • Formal education in accounting and/or related business degree.
  • Knowledge of private equity fund industry, products, and services.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Analytical skills for reviewing and resolving accounting issues.
  • Familiarity with Investran and MS Suite of Systems (Excel/Access/Word) at intermediate/advanced level.
