About the position

The Senior Consulting Systems Engineer (CSE) at World Wide Technology (WWT) serves as a technical consultant for the SLED (State Local Government Education) team, focusing on accounts in the Sacramento, CA area. This role is pivotal in providing mission-aligned strategies to help customers identify the right technology solutions to address their challenges. The CSE will leverage WWT's advanced suite of products and collaborate closely with Client Managers to expand service capabilities and ensure successful deployment and post-deployment support.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical pre-sales consulting focused on customizable and innovative IT solutions including Data Center, Infrastructure Modernization, Multi-Cloud Architecture, Security, and Digital Transformation.
  • Act as the technical liaison to all supported clients, selling complex products and services offered by WWT.
  • Consult on network infrastructure design and architecture.
  • Attend business appointments with Client Managers and partner with OEMs and internal sales and engineering teams to drive business outcomes.
  • Assist in developing Statements of Work and Bill of Materials.
  • Estimate labor hours for Professional Services work.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of Technical Sales Experience in the relevant industry.
  • Expert knowledge in Cisco technology with an active Cisco Certified Network Associate or higher certification; CCIE preferred.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience as a technical consultant, Technical Specialist, System Engineer, or comparable position.
  • Successful track record in sales, preferably in the SLED Sacramento, CA market.
  • Experience supporting enterprise network environments with a focus on Data Center, Infrastructure Modernization, Multi-Cloud Architecture, Security, and Digital Transformation.
  • Strong sales consulting experience and ability to partner with sales, engineering teams, and OEMs.
  • Excellent oral and written communication, product demonstration, customer service, and presentation skills.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to collaborate.
  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is preferred.
