About the position

At RingCentral, we are excited to welcome a Senior Content Designer - Product to our team, where you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our product experiences. As a member of our global product design team, you will work closely with product managers, designers, and various stakeholders to create intuitive and engaging content that enhances user experience. This hybrid role is based in our headquarters in Belmont, CA, and reports directly to the Director of Content Design. In this position, you will be responsible for writing clear, concise, and compelling product copy that empowers our users to accomplish their tasks efficiently. You will collaborate with internal teams to gain a deep understanding of our products and services, ensuring that your content strategies align with the needs of our target audiences. Your expertise will guide the development of vocabulary and strategic content direction for your product domain, and you will lead content research projects to inform evidence-based decision-making. Additionally, you will contribute to our product content style guide and terminology database, driving the adoption of content standards across the organization. As a mentor, you will coach and support junior content designers, fostering their growth and development within the team. Your role will also involve participating in constructive design critiques, helping to cultivate a culture of collaboration and innovation within the UX team. Responsibilities

  • Write clear, concise, and compelling product copy that makes it easy for our users to accomplish their tasks
  • Build strong partnerships and collaborate with designers, researchers, product managers, developers, documentation writers, and other stakeholders across the company
  • Work with internal teams and stakeholders to obtain an in-depth understanding of the products and services, the target audiences, and the appropriate written communication strategies
  • Collaborate with design and product leaders to develop the vocabulary and strategic content direction for your product domain
  • Direct content research projects as needed to understand our users' communication needs to enable evidence-based decision-making
  • Contribute to our product content style guide, terminology database, and design system, and drive the adoption of content standards by training designers, product managers, and other functions
  • Build and maintain positive strategic relationships with content leaders in other divisions to ensure a cohesive content experience across the company
  • Coach and mentor more junior content designers to help them grow in their careers and serve as a subject matter expert to the broader UX team
  • Contribute to our culture of constructive design critique, enabling team members to realize their potential

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in English, journalism, media studies, communications, marketing, creative writing, or a related field
  • At least seven years of experience as a UX writer, content strategist, or content designer for software products
  • Outstanding writing and editing skills with a history of developing end-to-end content experiences
  • Deep understanding of human-centered design practices and the role of content in the design process
  • Ability to work independently on multiple projects with varying scopes
  • Experience developing and communicating strategic content decisions to senior leadership and cross-functional teams
  • Ability to collaborate with senior leaders across practice areas to craft effective solutions
  • Experience leveraging data analysis, user research, benchmarking, and content audits to facilitate content decisions
