About the position

As a Control & Protection Application Senior Engineering Manager, you will lead an engineering team focused on the design and implementation of HVDC Control & Protection Systems. This role involves analyzing customer requirements, providing technical solutions, and ensuring project delivery aligns with tender objectives. You will also be responsible for developing organizational talent and driving consistent design practices across global projects.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team in the design, development, configuration, and verification of HVDC Control & Protection Systems.
  • Drive consistent design practices and common global processes for project implementation.
  • Provide technical guidance and solutions that meet project and tender objectives.
  • Develop PSCAD Network Models and Control MATLAB application Models.
  • Conduct MATLAB application unit and system integration testing.
  • Perform power system network conversion, modeling, and verification using tools like PSSE/PSCAD.
  • Conduct dynamic performance studies and control parameter tuning to meet grid stability criteria.
  • Develop algorithms and state machines in MATLAB Simulink and convert them to suitable time domain library models.
  • Support improvements to existing algorithms for power fault recovery during DPS studies.
  • Manage engineering resources, workload, schedule, and project milestones.
  • Play a key role in engineering design reviews and technical leadership, identifying project risks and proposing solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a minimum of 10 years of experience in the HVDC business.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in the HVDC industry, particularly with station equipment.
  • At least 5 years of experience leading complex teams.
  • Willingness to travel 20%, including international travel.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of electrical standards such as IEC 61850, IEC 62351, and IEEE 15288.
  • Process improvement or RCA experience or certification.
  • Experience working in the HVDC industry and HVDC Protection.
