About the position

The Senior Coordinator, Strategic Communications at the National Park Foundation plays a crucial role in enhancing the visibility and support for the organization and its programs. This contract position involves a variety of communications activities, including public relations, media relations, and digital communications, aimed at promoting the Foundation's mission and impact.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the team in developing and executing communications plans that raise visibility of the National Park Foundation
  • Develop press materials including press releases, media statements, pitch letters, interview briefs, and other materials
  • Write and copyedit communications materials including blogs, newsletters, reports, presentations, and more
  • Support the development and implementation of proactive and reactive earned media strategies that elevate NPF's programs and impact across the country
  • Maintain editorial calendars, media reports, and other tools to measure and report against the team's strategic objectives
  • As needed, develop communications geared toward internal NPF audience
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in communications-related field
  • Knowledge and understanding of public relations and communications best practices, trends, and analytics
  • Exceptional communications skills - written, verbal, and visual
  • Demonstrated flexibility in writing styles, both in creative and tactical materials
  • Analytical thinking, research, and editing skills
  • Excellent organizational skills; ability to successfully prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously in an efficient and effective manner -- meets deadlines and related commitments
  • Must be self-motivated and proactive, make sound decisions, and always exercise good judgment and professionalism
  • Ability to work both independently and in a collaborative manner
  • Experience using Cision, Monday, and PRNewswire a plus
