About the position

The Senior Copywriter, Brand Experience at SGK is responsible for crafting engaging and original brand and product storytelling across a diverse range of brands, audiences, and channels. This role is pivotal in delivering compelling copy that resonates with various target demographics, ensuring that the brand's voice is consistently represented. Reporting directly to the Director of Storytelling, the Senior Copywriter will collaborate with multiple teams on various activations, including digital and social media campaigns, as well as immersive in-person experiential marketing initiatives. The position requires a creative individual who can provide Associate Creative Directors (ACDs) and Creative Directors (CDs) with innovative options and ideas to inspire and develop large-scale concepts and campaigns. In addition to collaborating on high-level projects, the Senior Copywriter will also lead basic to intermediate-level copy projects, ensuring that all deliverables align with the strategic objectives outlined in client creative briefs. The ideal candidate will possess agency or in-house brand marketing experience, a meticulous attention to detail, and a proven ability to produce high-quality copy under tight deadlines. This role is part of SGK's part-time Flex Force bench, allowing for project-based work with the flexibility to work from home, while also providing opportunities for in-person collaboration at the Carson Street studio when necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures accurate, consistent, and timely completion of basic- to intermediate-level client copywriting deliverables within budget, based on objectives and concepts established by the client or team leadership.
  • Adapts writing tonality to a wide variety of brands and audiences, undertaking research where necessary to better understand a brand or their target audience.
  • Always meets quality standards and defined timelines for all assigned deliverables and makes recommendations to management for improvements in content, tools, processes and/or assigned tasks.
  • Presents and participates in collaborative meetings with internal teams to help elevate ideas and collectively find the best answer to the clients' ask.
  • Shows up consistently with strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, time management, and planning skills.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Journalism or related field.
  • 6+ years progressive Communications, Journalism experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • High degree of proficiency in MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications.
  • Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, budgeting, project management (from conception to completion), & planning skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills (including analysis, interpretation, & reasoning).
  • Solid understanding and application of mathematical concepts.
  • Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as, internal and external clients.
  • Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
  • Ability to work with and influence peers and management.
  • Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting.
