About the position

The Senior Copywriter at Paramount Creative & Strategy will play a crucial role in shaping the brand's voice through high-impact marketing communications. This freelance position involves leading the creation of various marketing materials, including advertisements, digital campaigns, and social media content, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure strategic alignment and execution.

Responsibilities

  • Conceptualizes, writes, and supervises print, video, experiential, presentation, and digital materials.
  • Works closely with the Editorial, Design, and Video teams to develop strategies that drive strong creative concepts and executions.
  • Collaborates with project managers to ensure direction, deadlines, and budgets are met on each project.
  • Establishes solid partnerships with customers throughout the organization to fully grasp their strategy and objectives.
  • Works with colleagues from various departments on diverse projects, including ads, event invites, campaigns, and event creative.
  • Meets regularly with the Editorial team to discuss process, creativity, strategy, departmental and company priorities.
  • Proofreads all self-generated copy at all stages of a project to ensure detailed output.
  • Moves projects forward as a strategic and creative leader.
  • Coordinates junior writer and intern projects when appropriate.
  • Articulates a deep understanding of the company, the media/entertainment industry, and the connections between them.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of demonstrated experience in copywriting, strategic branding, editorial writing, speech-writing, and copy editing at a manager or senior manager level.
  • B.A. or equivalent experience required (English, Communications, or Journalism major preferred).
  • Excellent writing, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to contribute to strategy development at the start of a new project.
  • Ability to develop and implement creative concepts effectively, guided by a strategic foundation.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and collaborate with all teams.
  • Ability to give and take feedback to build successful ideas and executions.
  • Diligent individual with a consistent record of successfully leading projects from start to finish.
  • Shows a resourceful and determined attitude; approaches challenges and roadblocks with creative ideas.
  • Ability to coordinate and lead brainstorms.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to present work and sell ideas effectively.
  • Innovative and creative.
  • Ability to adhere to deadlines.
  • Ability to proofread and edit own work.
  • Familiarity with the Apple operating system and experience with software including Microsoft Word, Excel, PPT, Outlook; Apple Keynote; Slack.
  • In-house or agency experience preferred.
  • Media/entertainment industry experience a plus.
