About the position

The Senior Copywriter position at WHY Brands Inc. is a temporary role focused on developing and maintaining the brand voice across various marketing materials. The role involves collaboration with multiple teams to create engaging and persuasive content that resonates with consumers, particularly parents and caregivers. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in copywriting for consumer products, with an emphasis on storytelling and strategic messaging.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the global scale of the department
  • Write engaging and persuasive headlines, product descriptions, and collateral for all consumer communications
  • Communicate complex instructional data clearly and compellingly to target audiences
  • Develop compelling copy that differentiates the consumer brand and aligns with brand voice attributes: Modern, Clever, and Innovative
  • Ensure copy is appropriate for customers and drives key initiatives
  • Create concepts that can extend into campaigns and synchronize across collateral
  • Interpret and adapt information from creative briefs and supporting documents
  • Communicate key messages, benefits, and details in alignment with creative briefs
  • Take ownership of projects from start to finish, addressing issues before execution
  • Work with the design team to review copy in situ before presentations and final designs

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably with an English/Journalism focus
  • 3-5 years of copywriting experience in both print and web, with an emphasis on CPG branding
  • Digital portfolio demonstrating strategic and creative strength
  • English proficiency and excellent grammatical, writing, and editorial skills
  • In-depth knowledge of CPG advertising techniques and marketing principles
  • Ability to understand technical content and learn new material quickly
  • Flexibility and resilience to adapt to changing conditions
  • Solid understanding of consumer interaction with various media
  • Ability to react quickly to changing priorities with urgency
  • Keep abreast of industry best practices and trends in marketing copywriting
  • Experience implementing learnings from digital metrics (email open rates, conversion, A/B testing, etc.) is a plus
  • Excellent writing skills with a keen eye for detail
