About the position
The Senior Copywriter, Health at Weber Shandwick Boston will play a pivotal role in the creative team, focusing on high-profile healthcare accounts. This position requires a blend of creativity and strategic thinking, as the candidate will be responsible for driving the creative vision, crafting compelling messaging, and engaging directly with clients. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in digital and social media, along with significant experience in healthcare copywriting.
Responsibilities
- Help drive overall creative vision for client projects.
- Craft overall messaging direction while maintaining consistency.
- Flex between short- and long-form copy including concept manifestos, digital/social copy, video scripts, pitches, and campaign support material.
- Provide mentorship to junior writers.
- Collaborate with colleagues across teams and take direction.
- Develop long-term creative plans and recommendations that meet client objectives.
- Participate in client meetings, brainstorms, and planning sessions for ongoing projects.
- Build and maintain strong rapport with creative team colleagues, client leads, and project managers.
Requirements
- 5+ years of copywriting experience in a related agency or department (advertising, digital, social media, publishing/content, or public relations).
- Prior healthcare/public health experience.
- Must have a portfolio.
- Ability to work onsite in the Boston office two days per week.
- Be curious, self-motivated, hard-working, well-organized, thick-skinned, and resilient to ever-changing timelines, requests, and deliverables.
- Advanced knowledge of brand development, marketing/advertising, and the creative process.
