About the position

The Senior Copywriter at Southwest Airlines is a key member of the Brand Marketing Team, responsible for creating compelling copy for various marketing initiatives across multiple channels. This role focuses on supporting communications for Getaways by Southwest, including digital and print assets, while ensuring alignment with the brand's standards and guidelines. The position emphasizes collaboration with internal teams to produce high-impact creative content that resonates with customers and drives the company's marketing objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Provide copywriting for Southwest channels including web content, email, digital display banners, social posts, video assets, print, and more.
  • Understand and support the Brand Style Guidelines and Brand Voice Guidelines.
  • Collaborate with internal copywriters and designers to develop creative assets that adhere to brand standards.
  • Attend creative huddles to present and evaluate creative work to ensure adherence to brand guidelines and follow channel best practices.
  • Review strategy and creative briefs to gain understanding of business objectives during project kick-offs.
  • Apply digital-first mindset and digital best practices in translating business needs and strategic initiatives into verbal and written communications.
  • Participate in creative brainstorming sessions.
  • Work closely with business owners and project managers to coordinate, schedule, and provide content deliverables within set timelines.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Advanced level experience in creative copywriting, advertising, and producing integrated campaigns.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with UX Copy.
  • Ability to showcase personal portfolio.
  • Previous travel copywriting experience.
