About the position

The Senior Copywriter, Health at Weber Shandwick Boston will play a pivotal role in the creative team, working on high-profile healthcare accounts. This position requires a blend of conceptual thinking and strong copywriting skills, with a focus on delivering engaging, culture-first ideas across various platforms. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in the digital and social space, particularly within healthcare, and will be responsible for driving creative vision, crafting messaging, and mentoring junior writers.

Responsibilities

• Help drive overall creative vision for client projects.
• Craft overall messaging direction while maintaining consistency.
• Flex between short- and long-form copy including concept manifestos, digital/social copy, video scripts, pitches, and campaign support material.
• Provide mentorship to junior writers.
• Collaborate with colleagues across teams and take direction.
• Develop long-term creative plans and recommendations that meet client objectives.
• Participate in client meetings, brainstorms, and planning sessions for ongoing projects.
• Build and maintain strong rapport with creative team colleagues, client leads, and project managers.

Requirements

• 5+ years of copywriting experience in a related agency or department (advertising, digital, social media, publishing/content, or public relations).
• Prior healthcare/public health experience.
• Must have a portfolio showcasing relevant work.
• Ability to work onsite in the Boston office two days per week.
• Strong organizational skills and resilience to changing timelines and requests.
• Advanced knowledge of brand development, marketing/advertising, and the creative process.
