MRM is seeking a Senior Copywriter to join our dynamic team in Princeton, NJ. The ideal candidate will be a conceptual thinker who is confident in presenting innovative ideas both internally and externally. This role is perfect for a collaborative team player who is eager to contribute to the creation of fresh concepts and play a pivotal role in developing engaging solutions. The Senior Copywriter will become a content expert for assigned pharmaceutical brands and therapeutic categories, ensuring that all creative outputs align with the brand's objectives and regulatory requirements. In this position, the Senior Copywriter will be responsible for the daily creative execution of various projects. This includes writing and adapting content from core materials, reviewing projects, incorporating feedback, and ensuring that all content is well-researched and accurately references clinical trials, disease states, and competitive products. The candidate will also present creative work and ideas alongside their art partner to clients, attend Medical Legal Review (MLR) meetings to note directions and apply changes to other pieces, and engage in discussions with supervisors, team members, and clients about key insights gathered from market research and workshops. Collaboration is key in this role, as the Senior Copywriter will work closely with cross-functional team members, particularly art partners, as well as Editing, Project Management, and Account Management teams. Additionally, the candidate will support new business efforts and conceptual work while adhering to client regulatory and approval processes. This position requires a proactive approach to finding inspiration and researching new technologies and data-driven ideas, as well as the ability to manage projects with minimal supervision and present approved content to clients effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the daily creative execution of projects including writing, adapting from core materials, reviewing projects, incorporating comments, referencing, and annotating.
  • Act as the resident expert about the brand, disease state, clinical trials and data, and competitive products.
  • Present creative work and ideas with art partner to clients.
  • Attend MLR meetings, noting direction and application of changes to other pieces.
  • Attend appropriate client meetings, market research, workshops and engage in dialogue with supervisor, team, and client about key insights.
  • Work collaboratively with all cross-functional team members, especially with art partners, Editing, Project Management, and Account Management.
  • Support new business efforts and/or conceptual work.
  • Adhere to client regulatory and approval processes.

Requirements

  • 3-4 years of pharmaceutical copywriting experience in a fast-paced agency setting.
  • Recent experience working on a pharmaceutical brand and familiarity with scientific information related to pharmaceutical advertising.
  • Strong investigative instinct.
  • Open and collaborative approach to creative development and feedback.
  • Understanding of the agency process and ability to ask direct and relevant questions pertaining to timing, content, or creative direction.
  • Thorough understanding of the healthcare market and competition.
  • A compelling portfolio included with your application.
  • Ability to manage projects with little supervision.
  • Proven ability to present approved content to clients.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Motivated to seek/gain additional creative opportunities and work on new business pitches.
  • Proactive about finding inspiration and researching new tech and data-driven ideas.
  • Autonomous, yet know when and how to raise questions or issues to your manager.
