About the position

The Senior Copywriter at KnitWell Group is a pivotal role responsible for crafting and implementing creative, seasonal, and promotional copy for both Ann Taylor Factory and Loft Outlet. This position requires a deep understanding of brand positioning and voice, enabling the copywriter to express significant fashion and cultural trends in a compelling and accessible manner. The Senior Copywriter will ensure that consumer-facing communications remain fun-loving, supportive, and inspiring, while also leveraging consumer insights and seasonal mindsets to address needs promptly in a fast-paced environment. The role demands adaptability in voice based on various channels, such as in-store, email, and paid media, as well as different audience types, including acquisition, retention, and reactivation. The ideal candidate will balance the communication of brand values with the promotion of brand awareness, all while driving traffic and sales to stores. In this role, the Senior Copywriter will demonstrate expertise in translating brand and marketing strategies into compelling copy, ensuring consistency with Ann Taylor Factory and Loft Outlet's copy standards. They will maintain high standards for writing and proofreading, continually evolving best practices and writing processes to achieve efficiency and proficiency. The copywriter will write informative, brand-appropriate descriptions and marketing copy across various channels and categories, using diverse writing styles to engage different audiences. Collaboration with cross-functional teams and the Senior Art Director will be essential to craft inspiring, on-brand content from concept to execution. Staying updated on best practices and trends in customer relationship marketing will also be a key responsibility.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement creative, seasonal, and promotional copy for Ann Taylor Factory and Loft Outlet.
  • Translate brand and marketing strategy into compelling copy that resonates with the target audience.
  • Ensure consistency and adherence to copy standards for both brands.
  • Maintain high standards for writing and proofreading across all communications.
  • Evolve overall best practices and writing processes for efficiency and proficiency.
  • Write informative and engaging descriptions and marketing copy across various channels and categories.
  • Utilize a variety of writing styles to engage diverse audiences in both print and digital formats.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create inspiring, on-brand content.
  • Work conceptually with the Senior Art Director from initial stages to final execution.
  • Stay informed on best practices and trends in customer relationship marketing.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5-6 years' experience in copywriting within advertising, direct marketing, or publishing.
  • Background in fashion ecommerce/editorial with extensive knowledge of current trends and language of the fashion world.
  • A strong creative work portfolio showcasing relevant experience.
  • Strong conceptual skills with an understanding of the relationship between copy, art, design, graphics, and typography.
  • Experience in developing direct response concepts, email marketing, and direct mail campaigns.
  • Ability to multitask, adapt, and re-prioritize while thinking creatively under tight deadlines.
  • Self-motivated with an entrepreneurial spirit and a positive attitude.
  • Fluency in online and social media platforms, including ecommerce, websites, blogs, and Instagram.
