About the position

We are seeking a senior-level copywriter who possesses the ability to transform strategic project briefs into compelling storytelling content tailored for major automotive brands. This role involves a diverse range of projects, including video content, digital media, brochures, point-of-sale materials, applications, and more. The ideal candidate will be a curious and collaborative communicator, capable of thinking big while also paying meticulous attention to detail. The successful candidate will brainstorm innovative ideas, develop creative concepts, and produce thoughtful, engaging short and long-form copy solutions that meet both marketing objectives and consumer needs. We are looking for a versatile and logical writer who can balance blue-sky thinking with the execution of day-to-day business tasks seamlessly. This position is hybrid, requiring three days a week in the Long Beach office, and reports directly to the Creative Director. The salary range for this position is between $75,000 and $85,000.

Responsibilities

  • Translate creative direction and copy points from creative briefs into engaging and effective copy concepts
  • Craft clear, concise, and creative writing that is on brand and appropriate for the channel it's intended for
  • Maintain a high standard of copywriting and exercise quality control on all copy
  • Help create and present creative concepts for projects and client presentations
  • Collaborate with creative directors, strategists, art directors, and developers in all aspects of the creative and production process
  • Consult with the Account team to obtain information on product/service, research supplemental background data, and development information
  • Work closely with Strategic Insights group to incorporate their findings regarding SEO, competitive analyses, market, product, and demographic trends; user experience and behavior
  • Work in conjunction with the Product Specialist for product and technical correctness and terminology

Requirements

  • 5-10 years related copywriting experience and/or training in an agency environment and an impressive portfolio
  • Exceptional writing skills, including the ability to write in a range of voices and styles for varied projects with diverse audiences
  • Able to write effectively and persuasively across a variety of platforms: video, digital, social media, etc
  • Expert at strategic brainstorming and concept development
  • A strong understanding of digital marketing and advertising principles
  • The ability to work in a collaborative team environment is an absolute must
  • An open, flexible mind and a passion for creative problem-solving are critical
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and effectively juggle diverse writing demands
  • Strong follow-through abilities and organizational skills
  • Effective at presenting information internally and to clients
  • Automotive and social media fluency is a plus
