About the position

The Senior Copywriter at TJ Maxx will play a crucial role in the in-house creative team, responsible for translating briefs into compelling and strategically driven creative content. This position emphasizes collaboration with designers and other team members to create on-brand copy for various channels, including social media, retail, email, and website content. The role requires a proactive approach to understanding business needs and adapting messaging based on feedback, while also mentoring junior team members and maintaining strong relationships within the creative team.

Responsibilities

• Partner with designers to concept and create compelling copy and content for organic and paid social, retail, email, and site.
• Take initiative to understand business needs and marketing requirements to create breakthrough copy and content.
• Collaborate with creative directors, designers, brand partners, and project management to effectively meet project objectives, schedules, and deadlines.
• Receive constructive feedback and adapt messaging accordingly and on schedule.
• Inspire and mentor junior members of the team to develop impactful creative ideas and assets.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with fellow creative team members and brand/channel partners.

Requirements

• 6-8+ years of related work experience at an internal or external agency.
• Experience creating social content, particularly for Instagram and TikTok, with knowledge of current trends.
• BA in English, Communications, or similar degree or equivalent experience.
• An amazing online portfolio of your work.
• Ability to translate creative briefs into thoughtful, compelling creative based on project objectives.
• Proven ability to effectively present work to creative team, creative leaders, and brand partners.
• A truly collaborative nature and a focus on fostering strong copy-design partnerships.
• Self-motivation and strong time management skills, plus the ability to juggle multiple projects with overlapping deadlines.
• Impeccable grammar, spelling, and attention to detail, coupled with a love for serial commas.
• Previous experience writing for social and digital, with bonus points for experience writing for retail environments.
• Passion for fashion.
