About the position

The Senior Corporate Counsel will join a non-profit Co-op that supports American utility companies, providing legal counsel and advice on complex financing transactions. This role involves drafting and negotiating transaction documents, ensuring compliance with preferred terms and conditions, and mentoring junior legal staff. The position is hybrid, requiring 2-3 days in the office each week.

Responsibilities

• Draft documents for complex financing transactions.
• Provide expert legal advice to legal and business teams in the execution of enterprise-wide initiatives.
• Be a key contributor on legal teams representing the organization in lending programs.
• Review & approve transaction documentation prepared by corporate counsel, paralegals & outside counsel.
• Develop skills of corporate counsel, paralegals & contracts personnel through effective coaching and mentoring.
• Supervise and coordinate workflow and work product of attorneys, paralegals, contracts personnel, and legal assistants.

Requirements

• Active license to practice law
• 7+ years of practice experience in commercial lending and corporate finance
