About the position

The Senior Corporate Public Relations Specialist at Novant Health is responsible for managing media relations, responding to media inquiries, and coordinating interviews with subject matter experts. This role involves creating and distributing proactive press releases on health topics and corporate initiatives, while staying informed about healthcare trends and regulatory standards. The specialist will work collaboratively within a regional PR team and build relationships with media and community leaders to effectively represent Novant Health.

Responsibilities

• Respond to news media requests for subject matter experts and coordinate media interviews.
• Create and disseminate proactive press releases related to health topics and corporate initiatives.
• Stay informed about current healthcare trends and issues of interest to the media and healthcare consumers.
• Maintain knowledge of regulatory and governing standards, corporate policies, and procedures.
• Develop and maintain cordial relationships with media and community leaders.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Three years of experience in public relations or a related field required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office products: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Publisher required.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills required.
• Ability to effectively communicate with internal/external staff, patients, and community required.
• Willingness to work evening and weekend hours frequently due to community events.
