About the position
The Senior Cost Accountant will oversee cost and inventory accounting, manage fixed assets, handle departmental accruals, and facilitate the monthly close processes for CMO sites. This role is crucial for ensuring timely and accurate financial insights that support business operations.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the monthly close process for product costing and inventory accounting, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.
- Establish standard costs, coordinate annual inventory counts, and maintain inventory sub-ledgers.
- Prepare and analyze financial reports, emphasizing cost drivers and variances.
- Serve as the point of contact between CMO operations and management, addressing cost issues and supporting strategic financial decisions.
- Handle intercompany inventory transactions, including transfer pricing and eliminations.
- Support audits and ensure adherence to GAAP, SEC, and SOX regulations.
- Contribute to special projects and initiatives aimed at process improvements.
Requirements
- Bachelor's in Accounting or Finance (CPA or MBA preferred).
- 3+ years of experience, with a focus on cost accounting and inventory management.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, SOX, and internal controls.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP systems.
- Excellent communication and analytical abilities.
