About the position

The Cost Accountant position at PCI Pharma Services involves analyzing and managing the company's operational costs to ensure financial integrity and compliance with accounting standards. The role is crucial in preparing financial reports, maintaining the general ledger, and supporting external audits, all while collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive efficiencies and improvements in accounting practices.

Responsibilities

  • Analyzing data about company's operational costs
  • Developing and analyzing cost standards
  • Ensuring the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, consolidating, and entering transactions
  • Preparing and recording asset, liability, revenue, and expense entries by compiling and analyzing account information
  • Maintaining and balancing subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, and reconciling transactions and resolving discrepancies
  • Maintaining general ledger by transferring subsidiary accounts, preparing a trial balance, and reconciling entries
  • Completing external audit by analyzing and scheduling general ledger accounts and providing information for auditors
  • Interacting with inventory management regarding material consumption
  • Collecting cost information and maintaining a database
  • Preparing cost forecasts for monthly, quarterly, or annual operating schedules
  • Maintaining records, general ledger accounts, and assisting in month-end and year-end close processes
  • Performing, reviewing, and analyzing a broad range of complex accounting activities to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
  • Reconciling Balance Sheet Accounts
  • Conducting regular ledger maintenance
  • Analyzing expenses to evaluate cost opportunities
  • Evaluating current workflow to recommend changes to increase accuracy and efficiencies
  • Monitoring and analyzing accounting data and producing financial reports or statements
  • Assisting with External Financial Audit and following up on audit recommendations
  • Identifying efficiencies and improvements in current accounting practices
  • Performing other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting
  • Proven work experience as a Cost Accountant, Cost Analyst, or similar role
  • Ideally 5+ years of relevant work experience in accounting firms - audit firm
  • Experience managing Financial Audits
  • Strong knowledge of financial regulations, including GAAP/IFRS and SOX compliance
  • Cost Accounting experience
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems; experience with ERP implementation is a plus
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and ethical standards
