About the position

The Senior Cost and Financial Analyst at Marotta Controls, Inc. is responsible for managing costing and pricing activities, providing programmatic support, and ensuring compliance with financial reporting requirements. This role involves collaboration with various teams to prepare cost positions for bids and negotiations, utilizing Earned Value Management (EVM) software to maintain project compliance. The position offers opportunities for growth within a supportive and dynamic work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Gather inputs from subject matter experts for Estimates to Complete (ETCs) and Estimates at Complete (EACs) in support of Earned Value for select programs.
  • Serve as the pricing lead on customer RFPs/RFQs for new products and existing products in both FAR regulated and competitive environments.
  • Interface with proposal team members regarding all elements of quotes and supporting logic.
  • Maintain a historical database of quotes.
  • Assist Program Management with programmatic financials on a daily basis.
  • Report and analyze program financial data for weekly, monthly, and annual reviews.
  • Prepare monthly cost type billings for customer invoices.
  • Maintain the Program Master List.
  • Perform Price and Cost Analysis (PCA) on sole source subcontracts greater than $2 Million with the Supply Chain team.
  • Review make vs. buy decisions with subject matter experts in various departments.
  • Review costed bills of material for consistency and best value.
  • Analyze cost drivers on new and historical designs as part of variance analysis and bid and proposal activities.
  • Support customer and DCAA/DCMA audits as the Marotta Finance Lead for the bid/proposal under audit.
  • Analyze program performance with Program Management to identify risks and opportunities in program execution.
  • Assist the operations team with cost analysis of production data.

Requirements

  • 5 to 10 years of relative experience
  • B.S. in Finance, Accounting, or other technical discipline
  • Core working knowledge of EVM principles and project-specific applications
  • Strong experience with Earned Value Management or EVMS related software
  • Experience working on government contracts in various capacities including Contracts Management, Pricing/Proposals, and Business Management
  • Experience in supporting audits and customer negotiations
  • Ability to perform Program Financial Metrics such as EACs, ETCs, and EVMS (CPI/SPI)
  • Superior Microsoft Excel skills
  • Knowledge of ERP systems
  • Strong verbal/written communication skills for multi-faceted interactions
  • Highly computer literate with MS Office/PC expertise
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple assignments simultaneously
  • Must be a US Citizen
