About the position

The Senior Counsel, International Trade Compliance (ITC) is responsible for ensuring compliance with global export controls and sanctions laws and regulations. This role involves leading investigations into potential non-compliance, drafting policies, conducting audits, and collaborating with various stakeholders to enhance trade compliance. The position requires a strong understanding of international trade laws and the ability to provide strategic advice to support international business operations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead investigations into potential non-compliance and disclosures to government agencies.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to complete root cause assessments and oversee corrective actions.
  • Draft policies and procedures and support the development of tools and infrastructure within ITC.
  • Conduct audits and assessments of global sites and programs.
  • Monitor proposed laws and regulations and advise business stakeholders on implications.
  • Collaborate with ITC Leadership and cross-functional teams for continuous improvement.
  • Engage Business Leadership to drive business execution.
  • Participate in trade compliance associations and industry discussions.
  • Lead communication with government officials as required.
  • Identify and implement compliance systems and IT tools to enhance trade compliance.

Requirements

  • JD from an accredited law school and a member in good standing of the bar of at least one U.S. state.
  • Minimum of 6 years of professional experience in International Trade Compliance.
