About the position

The Senior Counsel position at TransUnion involves providing legal support focused on federal and state anti-discrimination laws, as well as UDAP and UDAAP legal matters for the Data and Analytics team. The role requires collaboration with various stakeholders, including senior leaders, to make impactful legal decisions and business recommendations. This position is hybrid, requiring both virtual and in-person work, and involves keeping abreast of legislative changes that may affect the company's operations.

Responsibilities

  • Provide federal and state anti-discrimination legal support for the Data and Analytics team.
  • Advise internal clients on legal and business issues and implications of alternative positions.
  • Build and foster relationships with senior leaders through excellent communication skills.
  • Keep informed of current legislative and regulatory developments impacting operations.
  • Assist other attorneys on various matters, including those with potential for litigation.
  • Conduct research and manage complex legal matters, potentially engaging outside counsel.
  • Provide formal and informal training for internal clients.
  • Maintain confidentiality of company-related business.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctorate (JD) degree.
  • 5+ years of experience as a practicing attorney focused on federal and state anti-discrimination laws.
  • Ability to influence internal/external business and regulatory issues.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a significant and diverse workflow effectively.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of FCRA, GLBA, privacy, technology, and intellectual property law.
  • Experience working at an information services company advising clients on data use in a regulated environment.
