About the position

The Senior Creative Copywriter at Verizon is responsible for developing compelling creative concepts and high-quality verbal content across various digital media, particularly for retail channels. This role requires strong writing skills, collaboration with creative and design teams, and adherence to brand guidelines and compliance regulations. The position emphasizes creativity, innovation, and the ability to produce error-free work while supporting the overall performance of the team.

Responsibilities

  • Developing compelling creative concepts and high-quality verbal content across various digital media.
  • Writing creative, effective marketing copy according to project specifications and creative briefs.
  • Researching clients, their competitors, and target audiences to support creative strategy.
  • Providing writing support for aligned client groups and supporting projects from other clients as needed.
  • Producing original, clear, and credible copy, being accountable for the final development of creative assets.
  • Ensuring messaging brand guidelines and directives are embraced in all executions.
  • Adhering to regulatory and compliance regulations.
  • Executing writing requests with accuracy, producing zero errors in work.
  • Working to improve the team's overall performance and embracing a collaborative approach.
  • Supporting peers by reviewing work to ensure zero errors.
  • Editing and proofreading material as required.
  • Supporting leadership in building a unified team mindset.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or two or more years of work experience.
  • Four or more years of relevant work experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • A degree in English, journalism, communications, or a relevant field.
  • External or in-house agency experience.
  • Three or more years of professional-level writing experience.
  • Experience working on a B2B account.
  • Strong experience in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Experience with AP and/or Chicago Manual of Style.
  • Knowledge of writing applications in traditional and emerging channels.
  • Ability to maintain a consistent voice and audience focus in writing.
  • Ability to boil down verbose content to the essence of the main message in a concise manner.
  • Ability to exhibit consistent quality control in work.
  • Knowledge of specific channels or vertical markets as required by job function.
  • Ability to adapt style of copy to various audiences, purposes, or media.
  • Ability to exhibit competency in presenting creative work.
  • Experience working within legal and compliance parameters.
