About the position

Ford Integrated Services, launched in late 2023, is dedicated to creating and marketing innovative customer experiences by integrating hardware, software, and services across Ford Blue, Model e, and Ford Pro. This new organization is focused on developing connected, digital platforms that revolutionize vehicle functionality, user interaction, and value proposition. The goal is to allow customers to customize their vehicles through over-the-air updates and experiences that improve over time. As part of this initiative, Ford is seeking a Senior Creative Director with a copywriting background to help establish a marketing and creative department aimed at building revenue through software and services. In this pivotal role, the Senior Creative Director will be responsible for leading and growing a small team of copywriters while establishing the Integrated Services brand and sub-brands. The ideal candidate will translate complex software and technical innovations into simple, compelling narratives that focus on tangible benefits. This leader should be adept at building and leading teams, comfortable with ambiguity, and genuinely excited about shaping the future of automotive experiences by defining and refining customer-centric key messages. The Senior Creative Director will work closely with digital product and design leads to ensure that upstream strategy and user interface are effectively communicated in downstream marketing efforts. The role requires a strong interest in data-based optimization to enhance performance marketing content. A portfolio showcasing relevant work is required upon submission to be considered for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Spearhead creation and implementation of the Integrated Services brand and sub-brands.
  • Develop and present comprehensive brand guidelines, focused on delivering clear features and benefits with compelling voice and tone.
  • Collaborate with Integrated Services General Managers to align strategic goals across consumer touchpoints.
  • Define and present brand vision and voice to Integrated Services and Marketing leadership teams.
  • Build and manage a team to ensure cohesive messaging across CRM, web, and social platforms for software offerings.
  • Drive strategic decision-making on Integrated Services bundle offers and author supporting copy.
  • Craft concise, clear descriptions for complex, novel software features.
  • Partner with Product teams to integrate storytelling into product development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or professional equivalent.
  • 10+ years of copywriting experience with a globally recognized brand or agency, specializing in 'always-on' direct response and sales copywriting.
  • 5+ years of experience writing for performance marketing teams focused on software.
  • Outstanding portfolio showcasing conceptual thinking and strong writing abilities.
  • Deep understanding of brand and creative disciplines.
  • Proven leadership in project management and cross-functional collaboration.

Nice-to-haves

  • 3+ years of experience in a creative leadership role and managing a creative/content team.
  • Passion for simplicity and ability to distill complex ideas into digestible messages for customers.
