About the position

The Senior Creative Services Copywriter at Holland America Line is responsible for creating impactful, on-brand copy and content that enhances the company's marketing initiatives. This hybrid role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure consistency in voice and tone across various communication channels, while also adhering to brand guidelines. The position demands agility and flexibility in handling diverse projects, from detailed briefs to more open-ended creative tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Create and develop persuasive and meaningful copy and concepts for product and marketing initiatives.
  • Collaborate with design colleagues to consistently produce high-quality content.
  • Maintain brand guidelines and update copy and product messaging for overarching brand initiatives across multiple communication channels.
  • Produce clear, creative, and insightful copy across a variety of communications from web banners to brochures that emphasizes the benefits for the reader.
  • Maintain a consistent voice and tone across all content and incorporate revisions and suggestions from internal stakeholders.
  • Lead the development of and contribute to a copywriting style guide for the organization.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to learning, teamwork, and leadership through collaboration and relationship-building with peers and teams.
  • Act as brand steward for Holland America Line and support the company's brand positioning while maintaining a consistent voice and style across all copy contributions.
  • Perform other job-related functions as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or related field; or equivalent combination of relevant background and work experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of professional copywriting experience in corporate marketing communications or a creative agency environment.
  • 8+ years of professional copywriting experience in corporate marketing communications or a creative agency environment preferred.
  • Demonstrated communication skills and talent for high-caliber creative concept development and writing.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent proofreading skills.
  • Thorough understanding of digital culture and social media.
  • Proven ability to work well under pressure, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to present and explain the creative strategy behind copywriting concepts.
  • Strong knowledge of company products, travel industry, and destinations preferred.
  • Strong demonstrated presentation skills.
  • Proven ability to work with a variety of personalities under varying degrees of stress.
  • Proven ability to motivate team members to achieve desired results.
