About the position

The Sr. Credit Analyst/Underwriter is responsible for performing financial analysis and underwriting of complex loans and relationships to assess risk for the bank. This role involves engaging with junior analysts to assist in credit analysis and ensuring accurate and timely delivery of work products. The position requires a strong analytical mindset and the ability to mentor others while managing significant financial data.

Responsibilities

• Generate financial spreads or oversee and review spreads prepared by Analyst I or II using financial statements to find and review trends.
• Create spreadsheets to quantify borrower's personal, global, and real estate cash flows/project analysis accurately and timely.
• Create credit memos and annual reviews as defined in current department procedures.
• Attend loan committee meetings when directed by management.
• Provide guidance and assistance in mentoring Analyst I & II as directed by Regional Manager.
• Engage Analyst I or II to assist in tasks related to analysis of credits or relationships and provide oversight of work product.
• Act as backup to the Regional Manager or other CA leader in reviewing work products performed by other Analysts on the team.
• Complete required BSA/AML training and other compliance training as assigned.
• Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.

Requirements

• Equivalent to a four-year college degree in accounting, marketing, business administration, finance, or related field.
• 7 years of related experience and/or training, including 4 years of related management experience.
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and policy/procedure manuals.
• Ability to read, analyze, and understand financial reports and legal documents.
• Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.
• Strong critical thinking skills to define problems, collect data, and draw valid conclusions.
