About the position

The Senior Credit Analyst/Underwriter is responsible for performing financial analysis and underwriting of complex loans to assess risk and monitor existing credits for the bank. This role involves engaging with junior analysts to assist in credit analysis and ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of their work. The position requires strong analytical skills and the ability to mentor others while participating in loan committee meetings and compliance training.

Responsibilities

• Generate financial spreads or oversee and review spreads prepared by Analyst I or II using financial statements to find and review trends.
• Create spreadsheets to quantify borrower's personal, global, and real estate cash flows/project analysis.
• Create credit memos and annual reviews as defined in current department procedures.
• Attend loan committee meetings when directed by management.
• Provide guidance and assistance in mentoring Analyst I & II as directed by Regional Manager.
• Engage Analyst I or II to assist in tasks related to analysis of the credits or relationships and provide oversight of work product.
• Act as backup to the Regional Manager or other CA leader in the review of work product performed by other Analysts on the team.
• Complete required BSA/AML training and other compliance training as assigned.
• Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.

Requirements

• Equivalent to a four-year college degree in accounting, marketing, business administration, finance, or a related field.
• 7 years of related experience and/or training, including 4 years of related management experience.
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and policy/procedure manuals.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and the general public.
• Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.
