About the position

As a Senior Customer Engineer at Google Cloud, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Google Cloud Sales team by driving goals, mission, and strategy around Google Cloud AI/ML solutions that facilitate customer migration and transformation. Your primary responsibility will be to meet with customers to facilitate business transformation, establish success patterns, and create an architectural blueprint that serves as the foundation for their migration to Google Cloud. This position requires a deep understanding of cloud computing, machine learning, and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. In this role, you will work cross-functionally to introduce Google Cloud to prospective and existing customers and partners. You will help them understand the power of Google Cloud, develop creative cloud solutions and architectures to address their business challenges, and troubleshoot any potential technical roadblocks. Your expertise in machine learning will be crucial in supporting the technical relationship with Google's customers, which includes conducting product and solution briefings and proof-of-concept work. You will also collaborate directly with product management to prioritize solutions that impact customer adoption of Google Cloud. Additionally, you will be responsible for recommending integration strategies, enterprise architectures, platforms, and application infrastructure necessary to implement comprehensive solutions using best practices on Google Cloud. This role may require travel to customer sites, conferences, and other related events as needed, allowing you to engage directly with clients and showcase the capabilities of Google Cloud products.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Google Cloud Sales team and drive goals, mission, and strategy around Google Cloud AI/ML solutions.

  • Help customers understand the power of Google Cloud and develop creative cloud solutions to solve their business issues.
  • Problem-solve potential technical roadblocks for customers.
  • Travel to customer sites, conferences, and other related events as needed.
  • Provide machine learning expertise to support the technical relationship with customers, including product and solution briefings and proof-of-concept work.
  • Partner with product management to prioritize solutions impacting customer adoption of Google Cloud.
  • Demonstrate and prototype Google Cloud product integrations in customer/partner environments.
  • Recommend integration strategies, enterprise architectures, platforms, and application infrastructure for complete solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience as a sales engineer or technical consultant in a cloud computing environment or customer-facing role.
  • Experience in virtualization or cloud native architectures in a customer-facing or support role.
  • Experience with Big data, machine learning, and numerical programming frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, Python, MATLAB).

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  • Experience building machine learning solutions and leveraging specific machine learning architectures (e.g., deep learning, LSTM, convolutional networks).
  • Experience architecting and developing software or infrastructure for scalable, distributed systems.
  • Experience in data and information management as it relates to Big data trends and issues within businesses.
  • Ability to learn quickly, understand, and work with new emerging technologies, methodologies, and solutions in the cloud/IT technology space.
