About the position

As a Senior Customer Engineer at Google Cloud, you will play a pivotal role in facilitating the adoption of Google Cloud products among various organizations, including educational institutions and government agencies. Your primary focus will be on driving the goals and strategies around Google Cloud AI/ML solutions, assisting customers in their migration and transformation processes. You will work closely with sales teams, customers, and engineering teams to deliver tailored solutions that enhance productivity and collaboration, while also addressing technical challenges that may arise during implementation.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and qualify business opportunities and understand key customer technical objections.
  • Develop strategies to resolve technical blockers for customers.
  • Provide machine learning expertise to support technical relationships with customers, including product briefings and proof-of-concept work.
  • Partner with product management to prioritize solutions that impact customer adoption of Google Cloud.
  • Demonstrate and prototype Google Cloud product integrations in customer environments.
  • Recommend integration strategies, enterprise architectures, and application infrastructure for complete solutions using best practices on Google Cloud.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience as a sales engineer or technical consultant in a cloud computing environment or customer-facing role.
  • Experience in virtualization or cloud native architectures in a customer-facing or support role.
  • Experience with Big data, machine learning, and numerical programming frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, Python, MATLAB).

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
  • Experience building machine learning solutions and leveraging specific machine learning architectures (e.g., deep learning, LSTM, convolutional networks).
  • Experience architecting and developing software or infrastructure for scalable, distributed systems.
  • Experience in data and information management as it relates to Big data trends and issues within businesses.
  • Ability to learn quickly and work with new emerging technologies in the cloud/IT technology space.
