About the position

The Senior Customer Service Associate plays a crucial role in enhancing the customer experience at Goodwill Industries by training and mentoring other associates, leading sales efforts, and ensuring operational excellence. This position involves keyholder responsibilities, including opening and closing the store, managing register transactions, and maintaining store standards. The associate is expected to deliver exceptional customer service while promoting the Goodwill brand and its mission.

Responsibilities

  • Train and mentor Customer Service Associates and Trainees on customer engagement and technical skills.
  • Communicate priorities and productivity goals to the team and maintain accountability.
  • Provide productivity updates to store management and identify performance issues.
  • Process register transactions, handle money, and achieve a 40% Round-Up donation average monthly.
  • Serve as a keyholder, proficient in opening and closing procedures.
  • Engage customers effectively and maintain a clean and organized store environment.
  • Perform duties as Barcoder, Processor, and Donation-Utility Associate when needed.
  • Establish or identify prices of goods and maintain sales floor standards.

Requirements

  • Completion of Goodwill Role Model Workers program.
  • Proficiency in customer service, barcoding, production, and donation-utility duties.
  • Ability to meet customer needs and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Demonstrated honesty and integrity in the workplace.
  • Ability to make sound and timely decisions impacting business goals.
  • Dependability and reliability in attendance and performance.
  • Ability to communicate instructions in English, both verbal and written.
  • Flexibility to work a varied schedule, including nights and weekends.

Nice-to-haves

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
  • Excellent math skills preferred.
