Senior CVML Engineer

About the position

The position involves joining a team of computer vision and machine learning researchers and engineers at Apple to develop and implement advanced algorithms for the Apple Vision Pro, a revolutionary spatial computer. The role focuses on solving complex challenges in 3D computer vision, enhancing user experiences through innovative technology, and collaborating across teams to ensure efficient integration with Apple hardware.

Responsibilities

• Inventing and implementing state of the art computer vision algorithms to solve cutting edge problems
• Designing algorithms to work reliably and efficiently on mobile devices
• Collaborating with other teams in software and hardware to ensure the full pipeline runs efficiently
• Cooperating with team members to prepare presentations, papers, and talks to explain inventions

Requirements

• Over 8 years of experience and a PhD degree, or 10 years with a MS degree
• Strong track record of leadership and successfully delivering products at scale
• Strong experience in 3D Computer Vision algorithms
• Experience in machine learning, preferably in 3D computer vision applications
• Solid foundation in 3D geometry and linear algebra
• Good experience in Python and science libraries like Numpy, Pandas, Matplotlib
• Solid in deep learning frameworks like PyTorch or TensorFlow
• Experience in C++ is a big bonus
• Experience in 3D graphics and rendering is a big plus
• Sensor fusion experience is a big bonus
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Excellent problem solving and analytical thinking skills
• Track record of successfully building and shipping products or open source projects
• Creativity and curiosity for solving highly complex problems
