About the position

The Senior Cyber Operations Analyst is responsible for the administration and support of OSI PI software and tools within the technical infrastructure. This role involves developing time-saving analytics and business cases in collaboration with stakeholders in the Electric and Gas operations center, while ensuring that data security requirements are met across all aspects of cyber architecture.

Responsibilities

  • Support Grid Digitization through modeling real-time data streams and creating a platform for Historian and Analytics.
  • Develop time-saving use cases for Real-time Analytics using the AVEVA PI historian suite of software tools.
  • Size and design system-level hardware requirements for OSI PI Systems and related interfaces.
  • Evaluate Asset Framework and PI Architecture designs for security adequacy in response to business area requirements.
  • Ensure appropriate levels of availability based on critical system functions and identify disaster recovery and continuity of operations requirements.
  • Provide input on data security requirements for procurement documents.
  • Contribute to the Risk Management Framework process activities and related documentation.
  • Define and document the impact of new data systems or interfaces on the security posture of the current environment.
  • Document how new use cases support business objectives, including cost-benefit analysis.
  • Write detailed functional specifications for data architecture requirements.
  • Document and update all data definition and architecture activities as necessary.
  • Determine protection needs for data systems and networks and document appropriately.
  • Implement Industrial Analytics/Smart Analytics using operational technology data.
  • Perform scheduled Industrial Life Cycle Management and maintenance on the PI system and other operational technology systems.
  • Administer Industrial Real-time Systems for AVEVA/OSIsoft PI System and related technologies.
  • Develop, deploy, and maintain Utility Compliance documents.
  • Automate and monitor PLC, Telemetry, Control System, and SCADA data streams.
  • Perform software updates, server upgrades, and OSI PI software patching.
  • Implement, configure, and troubleshoot AVEVA/OSIsoft industrial interfaces and software products.
  • Manage time series and relational databases.
  • Engage in continuous process improvement activities to align with corporate policies.
  • Complete assigned duties/tasks as needed.

Requirements

  • BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Data Science or applicable experience.
  • 5 years working with PI Historian Systems or similar systems in an Administrator capacity.
  • Experience working with PI Historian Systems in an Administrator capacity.
  • Understanding of data sets for both Gas and Electric Power Protection and Operations preferred.
  • Proven OSI PI historian best practices training.
  • Strong communication and administration skills related to technology, both IT and OT.
  • Strong understanding of system engineering and integration for advanced systems and networking technologies.
  • Intermediate to advanced expertise in MS Excel for data correlation and reporting.
  • Intermediate to advanced expertise in scripting languages such as MS PowerShell, VMware PowerCLI, Python, Perl, etc.
  • Experience with the entire OSI/PI Software Suite.
  • Familiarity with industry data collection standards (OPC, SCADA, MODBUS, Relational DB, Web Services, ODBC, XML, etc.).
  • Good knowledge of Data Acquisition and Distributed Control systems, SCADA, and PI Interfaces.
  • Advanced knowledge of computer hardware and software and its related infrastructure components.
  • Ability to integrate business process and technology solutions.
  • Ability to multitask and set priorities in a continuously changing environment.
  • Strong ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

  • Understanding of data sets for both Gas and Electric Power Protection and Operations.
  • Proven OSI PI historian best practices training.
  • 7 years of Historian and Analytics program implementation experience.
