About the position

Epsilon C5I, a leader in software development and systems engineering for complex command, control, intelligence, and combat systems, is seeking a Senior Cyber Security Engineer II to join our team in San Diego, CA. This pivotal role is designed for a TS/SCI-cleared individual with over 8 years of experience in Navy Cyber Security or Engineering. The Senior Cybersecurity Engineer will be responsible for managing Information Assurance (IA) services for Navy C5I systems, ensuring the security and compliance of critical operations that enhance targeting capabilities for the warfighter. In this role, you will develop and manage the Risk Management Framework (RMF) package, which is essential for obtaining the system's Authority to Operate (ATO). You will conduct thorough assessments of cybersecurity policies and procedures, identify vulnerabilities, and implement robust security measures to safeguard Navy C5I information systems. Your expertise in the latest cybersecurity regulations and standards will be crucial in ensuring that our systems are impenetrable and compliant. Additionally, you will support systems engineering, cybersecurity policy development, and maintain continuous monitoring of supported information systems. As a Senior Cyber Security Engineer II, you will manage DoD RMF efforts and IAVM processes across multiple programs, facilitate the development of documentation for DoD RMF accreditations, and oversee vulnerability management activities. You will provide technical cybersecurity services for integrated systems and solutions, utilizing various tools and processes to monitor and report the status of information systems. Your contributions will be vital in achieving successful system accreditation for operation on DoD networks, and you will frequently interact with customers and functional peer groups to support RMF efforts. Effective communication with program personnel, government sponsors, and senior executives will be essential to your success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Manage DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF) efforts and IAVM processes across multiple programs.
  • Facilitate the development of documentation in support of DoD RMF accreditations.
  • Perform vulnerability management activities and oversee the creation and submission of DoD RMF packages.
  • Provide technical cybersecurity services for the support of integrated systems and solutions.
  • Utilize tools and processes to monitor and report the status of information systems.
  • Contribute to successful system accreditation for operation on DoD networks.
  • Analyze system requirements and support design and development activities.
  • Frequently interact with customers and functional peer groups to support RMF efforts.
  • Communicate with other program personnel, government sponsors, and senior executives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a Cyber Security-related field is desired.
  • At least eight (8) years of practical experience in Navy Cyber Security or Engineering; without a college degree, greater than twelve (12) years of experience is required.
  • Experience with Information Assurance tools such as DISA Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS), XACTA, and Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS).
  • Must hold an active Security+ certification; CISSP desired.
  • Applicant must have an active DoD Top Secret Security Clearance, with SCI access.
  • Experience implementing Risk Management processes, specifically related to Cyber Security.
  • Working knowledge of the Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS), XACTA, and DoD Information Assurance Vulnerability Management (IAVM) Process.
  • Meets Department of Defense Cyber Security Workforce (CSWF) requirements for Information Assurance Management (IAM) Level II.
  • Experience in planning, organizing, completing, and presenting assessments of National Security/IA-related concepts, analyses, studies, and procedures.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.

  • Experience in supporting security authorization activities in compliance with government directives.
  • Experience with Apache, Tomcat, and managing Java web applications.
  • Experience with PostgreSQL managing tables, views, roles, and performing maintenance.
  • Strong experience with Windows and RHEL operating systems (OS) to include scripting in both OS.
