About the position

The Senior Cybersecurity Consultant will serve as a key advisor to public sector clients, focusing on identifying and addressing complex cybersecurity risks. This role involves leading the development of comprehensive cybersecurity strategies, conducting advanced assessments, and providing actionable recommendations to enhance clients' cybersecurity posture. The consultant will also mentor junior staff and contribute to the strategic development of cybersecurity products and services.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a senior advisor to public sector clients, identifying and addressing complex cybersecurity risks and needs.
  • Lead the development and presentation of comprehensive cybersecurity strategies and solutions to executive and technical audiences.
  • Conduct and oversee advanced cybersecurity assessments, including risk assessments, vulnerability assessments, and compliance audits.
  • Provide high-level guidance and actionable recommendations to enhance clients' cybersecurity posture, ensuring alignment with frameworks such as NIST, CIS, and SCADA.
  • Advise on and implement cybersecurity governance, risk management, and compliance strategies.
  • Develop and maintain detailed documentation of cybersecurity methodologies and client interactions, ensuring all deliverables meet Tyler Technologies' standards.
  • Collaborate across departments to ensure integration and consistency in cybersecurity service delivery and product development.
  • Mentor and guide junior consultants, fostering skill development and adherence to best practices.
  • Build and sustain strong client relationships, acting as a primary contact for client cybersecurity initiatives.
  • Identify new service opportunities and contribute to the expansion of client engagements.
  • Contribute to the strategic development and enhancement of Tyler's cybersecurity products and services.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 5 years in cybersecurity, including 3+ years in a consulting role.
  • Experience with complex cybersecurity projects and delivering measurable results.
  • Demonstrated success working with public sector clients or similar regulated industries is highly preferred.
  • CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) or achievable within 12 months of employment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field.

Nice-to-haves

  • Additional certifications such as CISM, CRISC, CISA, or GICSP are preferred.
  • Any advanced SCADA certifications or cloud security certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Security Specialty) are a plus.
  • Familiarity with AI applications in cybersecurity is advantageous.
  • Advanced degrees or relevant certifications are highly preferred.
