About the position

Peraton is seeking a Senior Cybersecurity Systems Engineer to join our Cyber Mission business unit in Jessup, MD. This full-time position is part of one of the largest enterprise-wide engineering contracts within the Intelligence Community, requiring 1880 hours of support per year at a customer location. As a Systems Engineer, you will provide essential systems engineering (SE) services that inform cybersecurity (CS) posture decision-makers regarding network enclaves and systems throughout the program's lifecycle. Your responsibilities will include gathering stakeholder requirements, analyzing these requirements, and proposing effective solutions. You will also be tasked with implementing, integrating, verifying, and validating approved solutions, as well as monitoring, sustaining, maintaining, and modifying these solutions as necessary. In this role, you will assist the government team in coordinating and gathering CS access-control requirements to ensure robust security measures are in place. This will involve collecting information from various external and internal stakeholders across the program, the Agency, and Second Parties. You will analyze both routine and ad hoc technical CS requirements, proposing technical solutions that facilitate the execution of the program's operations and cybersecurity initiatives. Additionally, you will prepare and update written instructions and guidance for the approved solutions, ensuring clarity and compliance with established protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Support one of the largest enterprise-wide engineering contracts within the Intelligence Community.
  • Provide systems engineering services to inform cybersecurity posture decision-makers.
  • Gather and analyze stakeholder requirements and propose solutions.
  • Implement, integrate, verify, and validate approved solutions.
  • Monitor, sustain, maintain, and modify approved solutions as necessary.
  • Assist in the coordination and gathering of cybersecurity access-control requirements.
  • Collect information from various stakeholders across the program and the Agency.
  • Analyze routine and ad hoc technical cybersecurity requirements and propose solutions.
  • Prepare and update written instructions and guidance for approved solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or advanced degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, or related discipline plus at least 20 years of systems engineering experience.
  • A Master's degree or PhD may substitute for two years of experience.
  • A high school diploma or GED plus 24 years of systems engineering experience is acceptable.
  • Solid experience supporting Cyber systems, particularly in systems requirement analysis.
  • Experience in preparing performance measures of effectiveness for technical solutions.
  • Experience in conducting trend analyses.
  • Experience working with Communities of Interest (COIs) and Access Control Groups (ACG).
  • Experience in conducting IV&V of government-approved solutions.
  • Position requires TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience supporting cybersecurity operations activities and best practices.
  • Familiarity with the customer's Cybersecurity organization.
