About the position

As a Senior Data Analyst in Audit at Capital One, you will leverage your analytic and technical skills to innovate, build, and maintain data solutions that address business challenges. This role focuses on evaluating and assessing data management capabilities across the organization, with an emphasis on innovation, data management, and business intelligence. Responsibilities

  • Leverage analytic and technical skills to innovate and build data solutions.
  • Evaluate and assess data management capabilities across the organization.
  • Utilize Open Source/Digital technologies to mine complex data sources.
  • Build self-service frameworks for data consumers.
  • Partner with the business to translate needs into tools and dashboards for insights.
  • Drive analysis that provides meaningful insights on business strategies.
  • Ensure adherence to data quality management principles including metadata and lineage.
  • Collaborate with Tech teams to manage data access governance and security mechanisms.
  • Monitor and report on data quality.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics discipline or equivalent experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience in data analytics or a Master's Degree with expected completion before the start date.
  • At least 1 year of experience in at least one scripting language (Python, R, Spark, SQL).
  • At least 1 year of experience utilizing a business intelligence visualization tool.
  • At least 1 year of experience in querying and analyzing data.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics discipline.
  • At least 2 years of experience coding in Python, R, Spark, or SQL.
  • At least 2 years of experience in process management and improvement methodologies (Agile, Lean, Six Sigma).
  • At least 1 year of experience utilizing AWS services.
  • At least 1 year of experience in data governance and data quality management concepts.
