About the position

This position is responsible for gathering, organizing, and analyzing large data sets using complex statistical techniques and tools. The primary goal is to ensure data quality, integrity, and compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and Bank policies, which assist management in making informed business decisions. The role involves developing and implementing key automation, business intelligence, and data visualization deliverables to support and promote effective coverage of Business Units' control environments. As a subject matter expert, this position may also mentor other staff members or serve in a team lead role. The responsibilities include data analysis, where the individual will gather, organize, and sort data to develop complex data models for the department, business unit staff, and other stakeholders. This involves accessing structured and unstructured systems across the organization and utilizing coding efforts where needed to meet testing requirements. Effective and timely communication of findings is crucial. The individual will evaluate department strategies to develop and implement sound data analysis processes and results for staff, management, and other stakeholders. In terms of reporting, the position requires analyzing and producing timely reports for senior management and other stakeholders regarding risks, trends, patterns, and exceptions. The individual will develop business intelligence and data visualization solutions that appropriately represent findings as needed. Additionally, assistance will be provided to senior management in compiling, preparing, and completing committee presentations, annual audit plans, and risk assessments. Business support is another key aspect of the role, where the individual will identify, prioritize, develop, document, and implement strategic-use cases to support data analysis outcomes, processes, and other requirements. The position is responsible for all components of project execution and stakeholder engagement, working across departments and with functional management to recommend timelines and set expectations. Operational support will also be provided to the department and senior staff regarding technical inquiries, serving as a subject matter expert.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and 6 years of experience in Banking, financial or other directly related industry OR High School Diploma or GED and 10 years of experience in Banking, financial or other directly related industry.
  • Preferred Area of Study: Mathematics, statistics, computer science, information management.
  • Spreadsheet and database knowledge.
  • Able to analyze and visualize large sets of data.
  • Able to create and apply accurate algorithms to datasets to identify solutions.
  • Knowledge of programming languages including but not limited to SQL, Oracle, R, MATLAB, Python.
  • Proficiency in statistics and statistical packages/applications used to analyze data sets.
  • Technical proficiency in Tableau and TeamMate.
